From Dublin Airport

Coming from the airport you can catch the express bus, the local public bus or take a taxi to the city centre.

By bus

By Express Bus details as follows:

Airlink Express Bus (Dublin Bus Routes 747 & 748)
When you arrive at Dublin airport arrivals hall various buses are located outside the main arrival hall doors. The stop you are looking for is O’Connell Street, ask the driver to let you know when the bus has arrived here. When you reach O’Connell Street cross to the south side of O’Connell Bridge, walk towards the Heineken Building and you will find D’Olier Street, Ashfield house is located 50 yards up on the left hand side.

Mon – Sat: 5.45 am – 23.30 hrs, Sun: 7.15 am – 23.30 hrs

Mon -Sat: 6.50 am – 21.30, Sun: 7.00 am – 22.05 hrs Services depart the airport at 10/20 minute intervals €6.00 for a single ticket, €3.00 for an under 16s ticket Aircoach When you arrive at Dublin airport you can take the Aircoach bus from outside of the terminal building. The stop you are looking for is Grafton Street / Trinity College; ask the driver to indicate when you have arrived. From here you must walk north towards O’Connell Bridge. Ashfield House is approximately a 5 minute walk from here.

Route 16A
When you arrive to Dublin airport- take the bus located outside of the main arriving hall on your left side (the last stop). Get off at Upper O’Connell Street and follow the same directions as above. Mon – Fri: 6.50 – 23.10, Sat: 7.40am – 22.20 , Sun: 8.30- 22.40. Approximately every 20 minutes Normal Dublin fares apply (app. €2.20 adult). Exact fare is needed for the bus, as change is not given back.

Route 41, 41A, 41B, 41C
Take the bus directly from outside terminal building. Get off at Eden Quay – walk towards O’Connell Bridge and follow directions as above. Mon-Sat: 6.25 am – 23.30 hrs, Sun: 7.30 am – 23.15 hrs. Dublin bus fares apply (app. €2.20 adult). Exact fare is needed for the bus, as change is not given back.

By taxi

Taxis are available from the forecourt outside the main entrance of the Arrivals level. The approximate cost of a taxi to Ashfield Hostel is €40 (however this depends on traffic and the time of the day).

From Ferry Terminals

From Dublin Ferry Port (Northwall)
By Bus
Take the public bus outside of the main building; Buses 7, 7A and 46A run to the city centre.

By Taxi
A taxi from here will cost approximately €20 depending on traffic. It can be quite difficult to get a taxi from the ferry port when a large number of passengers travel.

From Dun Laoghaire Ferry Port

By Bus
Take the 746 Mon- Sat: 8.00- 20:30, every hour. Sun: 10.30- 17:30, every hour Normal Dublin fares apply (€2.20 adult). Exact fare is needed for the bus, as change is not given back.

By Train (Dart)
If you are traveling by Dart, you should alight at Tara Street Station. Walk along the river via Burgh Quay-until you come to O’Connell Bridge House (Heineken Building). Take a left here and you will be on D’Olier street.

By Taxi
Taxi could cost you approximately €30 depending on traffic and the amount of passengers.

From Connolly Station or Busaras (Central Bus Station)

If you are traveling from Connolly Station or Busaras you can walk to our hostel or take a bus

On foot

Exiting Connolly station onto Amiens Street you will see Busaras, the central bus station. From Busaras head southwest onto Frenchman’s Lane toward Moland Place. Turn Left at Lower Gardiner Street. Slight right at Beresford Place ( you will see Custom House building on your left hand side). Cross the bridge and turn right at Georges Quay. Continue along the quays toward O’Connell Bridge. Turn Left at D’olier Street and about 50 metres is Ashfield House Hostel on your left.

By bus

Take the 151 or 128

Bus no. 128: Mon-Fr: 6.00- 23.10 approximately every 10/15 minutes, Sat: 6.30- 23.10 approximately every 15/20 minutes, Sun: 9.00- 23:30 approximately every 20 minutes

Bus no. 151: Mon-Fr: 6:25- 22:50 approximately every 10 minutes until 19:00 after less frequently, Sat: 6:45- 23:10 every 15 minutes until 19:00, Sun: 6:45- 23:10 approximately every 20 minutes until 20:00 after every 30 minutes

By taxi

Traveling by taxi could cost you approximately €7 depending on traffic.

From Heuston Station

By Tram (LUAS):
This is the easiest way. Take the tram at Heuston Station and get off at Abbey St Luas Stop. Then walk back a minute to find O’Connell Street and turn left and walk towards O’Connell Bridge.

By Bus:
Take the no. 78 (€1.50)

By Taxi:
There is a taxi rank located outside the train station. Taking Taxi from Heuston Station will cost approximately €15.00 depending on traffic and amount of passengers.
